The LUSU Club Lottery is a fundraising initiative that supports LU Sports Clubs, allowing them to spend money on what matters most to them – from kit, to access to facilities and extra training. By taking part in our lottery, you also contribute to Lancaster University Students’ Union’s student-wide offerings while also having the chance to win cash prizes.

It is simple! You purchase a lottery ticket, and each ticket gives you the chance to win one of our cash prizes in our weekly draw. For every £1 pledged to your club, 50p goes directly to your chosen club, 10p goes towards Lancaster University Students’ Union and 40p goes into the prize pot and into administration of the lottery. 

Each entry into the LUSU Club Lottery costs £1. The number of entries per person is capped at one entry per week, £5 per month per club.

The winning numbers are drawn randomly every Friday. If your numbers match the winning numbers, congratulations! You win a cash prize.

There are various cash prizes up for grabs every week, including a £25,000 jackpot if you match all six numbers. Check our website for the latest prize breakdown.

If you are a winner, we will notify you by email typically within a week of the draw. You can also contact our support team for the latest results.

If you are a lucky winner, you do not need to do anything! We will send your prize money directly to you by bank transfer, or be in touch for more information.

Unfortunately, due to legal restrictions, only residents of the United Kingdom (England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland) can participate in the LUSU Club Lottery.

Every ticket purchased helps fund grassroots sport at Lancaster. Your contribution makes a tangible impact on the funding available to your chosen club with 50p from every £1 going directly to your chosen team.

LUSU Club Lottery restricts entries to one per club per person per week, at a maximum of £5 per month. 

LUSU Club Lottery is specifically aimed at those wishing to support sport in Lancaster – from parents to alumni. Students may also enter the LUSU Club Lottery up to the preset limits.

LUSU Club Lottery launched Summer of 2025 with the intention of offering an enticing and self-initiated funding mechanism for sports teams in Lancaster. Initially launching with a group of early adopter clubs. If you would like to register interest for your team / club / society to be registered, please get in touch with the team.

50p from every £1 goes to your chosen club. Money received by your chosen club can be spent as needed by the club – from buying kit, to securing faculties access or enhanced training. The funding is intended to take the burden off club finances and offer opportunities to strive for excellence. 10p from every £1 goes to Lancaster University Students’ Union to help support sport and other student initiatives for Lancaster Students provided by LUSU – such as our free and impartial Advice Service. 40p from every £1 goes into the prize pot and towards administration fees.

LUSU Club Lottery is a recurring monthly payment of £5. Each successful payment entitles you to have 1 chance in the next 4 draws (£4) and will accrue additional credits to allow the supporter to play in the draw when there is a 5 week month (34p). The remaining unused credit (66p) is treated as a donation to the charity Lancaster University Students’ Union. On this basis, the supporter will need to have 3 month's worth of payments to accrue enough credits to participate in any 5 week month draw (3x 34p). If the player has not accrued enough credit within a 5 week month - they will miss the final 5th draw of that month, and resume the following week.
